History of Connecticut State Marshals

Sheriffs existed in Connecticut prior to its first constitution in 1818. Formerly known as Sheriffs,
The Connecticut State Marshal System was adopted in the year 2000.
The State Marshal System is a function of the executive branch of government.

H. MARK DEANGELIS

STATE MARSHAL

Mark DeAngelis has served as a Connecticut State Marshal for over 30 years. Beginning his career as a Deputy Sheriff in the late 1980's, Mark has extensive experience and knowledge with statutes and regulations for the State of Connecticut. 

He's held prominent roles as President and Co-Founder of the State Marshal Association of Connecticut, AFSCME Local 2193. Currently, Mark is a member of the Connecticut State Marshal Advisory Board, representing New Haven County. He also provides training to new State Marshal hires.

FRANK P. SANDILLO

STATE MARSHAL

Frank Sandillo is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a B.S. Degree in Economics. Prior to his appointment as a Deputy Sheriff in 1997, he was a local real estate developer and continues to hold a State of Connecticut Public Insurance Liscense.

He is a member of AFSCME Local 2193 - State Marshal Association of Connecticut; Connecticut Marshal Advisory Board and provides training to new State Marshal hires. 


 

FREDRICK BRANDI

STATE MARSHAL

Fredrick Brandi has served as a Connecticut State Marshal for over 15 years. Prior to his appointment as a Deputy Sheriff in 1999, he was an owner/operator of Brandi’s Meat Market. 

He has a special interest and expertise in processing garnishments. He is a member of AFSCME Local 2193 - State Marshal Association of Connecticut.
